Should i remove my cars eecs?

my 1980 chevy malibu has an EEVS(Evaporative Emission Control System). Im building my malibu into a drag racer where emissions dont matter, so will removing this eevs and all the tubes it brings with it increase hp at all? in heard since it reinjects the toxic fume mixture into your fuel mixture it might hamper performance. Any input on wheather or not to remove it and if so how to do it?
