Can dogs show human emotion?

Dogs are a lot like humans, they have emotions. When a dog is hurt it will whines, as when a human is hurt they will cry. When a dog likes you he will be your friend as will a human. Dogs will show respect when given respect, show love when given love, show angry when thought angry.
