What to wear to a Bat Mitzvah?!?! Help!?

Okay so I just got invited to my very first one, and i have no clue what kind of dress to wear. I was looking at spagetti straps or strapless...is that okay? and alright to be over the knee? Can anyone just tell me whats okay and whats pretty normal to wear? [: thanks
