How much should be spent for a wedding?

I lived in New Orleans for 25 years before moving to NJ. I'm familiar with southern oaks plantation. It's very beautiful. That being said, if you can afford the latter, then that's what you should do. It's supposed to be a once in a lifetime experience and you'll want the best. Every engaged couples situation is different so only you will know if you can truly afford this or if you should spend that much. But whatever you do, don't go into debt over it. If you have to max out credit cards or take out loans, then go the cheaper route. Best of wishes to you and good luck.
